I believe our church is on God’s GPS. The Holy Spirit is a constant visitor. But I want more. I want to expect that Jesus is going to show up every Sunday. The Holy Spirit is with me every day.  When I go to church I want corporate expectation. Last night we got home from home group, and I was pondering. I was pondering what affect my Facebook post had on Sunday’s service. I knew Saturday when we were driving back from Jesus Culture that God was going to move. But I wonder if people’s expectations rose when they say the status update. God told me last night that for this weeks service to post that if you want to have an experience with Him, to come this Sunday. If you want church, not like normal, to come. And I thought, awesome I can post that. But then God spoke to me and said that what I have faith to say He will do, He will follow through.

The day before the conference started they had a school of evangelism, and throughout the conference they shared testimonies. Well it was the birthday of one of the guys that had gone to the school. So when they were sent out to the streets he asked God for a birthday present. He asked that he would see a creative miracle. One of the people he encountered on the streets was a man who had been shot with a bullet not intended for him. It went through his shoulder and the bullet remained in his bone. The guy asked if he could pray for it and the man said sure. When the guy went to touch it the man moved in great pain, ‘cuz it was hitting a nerve. So the guy starts to pray, asks the man to check it out. I don’t remember exactly if it felt a little better or if there was no difference. But then the guys faith just rose up and he say man you better check that thing again because Jesus just healed you and its completely gone! The man goes to check it and it was gone! The first thing the man said was what the ****.  He couldn’t believe what had just happened!  They got the man testifying about Jesus on camera!

When our faith rises up and we declare what is in our heart, God shows up.  Now I may not have the faith at this moment to be able to say, if you are in a wheel chair come on Sunday and you will be healed. Right now all I feel is that you will have an experience with the real true living Jesus. I was talking to Ben about this last night as I was digesting it. He said, sometimes that is bigger than someone getting up and walking. And then I thought about it, what if someone’s experience was that they got out of their wheel chair? We have had one man do just that a few years back. Someone my parents have known for years. He got up and started running laps around the sanctuary. Pastor Gregory from Ukraine couldn’t keep up with him!

Kim Walker-Smith spoke about that once we have an experience with Jesus, we’re never the same. You can’t help but fall in love with Jesus.  Yes I just got back from an amazing conference, but usually for me that “high” lasts about a week. But at this conference I was changed. Things were imparted to me that I can’t put a finger on. God gives us the fire, but it’s our job to keep it burning.

Yes there were great men and women of God that spoke at the conference. But I believe the thing that changed me the most was that Jesus showed up. As a church body, we don’t have to wait for the next conference or the next guest speaker. Jesus is willing to make an appearance, is that enough for you?

This seminar is “family friendly”. Kristin D’Arpa and her team love kids. Children are invited to attend. Check out the workshop titles and descriptions. One workshop session is specifically designed for families to attend together while other workshops and outreach times will also be beneficial and exciting for children.

It’s that time of year again to start thinking VBS!! The dates of this year’s VBS is June 13-17 6:30-9:00 p.m. Plan to come and bring friends, neighbors, anyone you know to experience the amazing love of God. If you are wanting to help in anyway, contact Jessica Kerns.

Two and one half years ago Jim Woodis approached me about changing the church announcements format into a more entertaining format rather than just reading the bulletin from the pulpit.  Shortly thereafter Henry Griner gave me a small video flip cam and the Sunday Announcements Video Ensemble (S.A.V.E. TEAM) ministry was born.

Over the course of two plus years we filmed over 80 separate mini movies reporting community and church activities and spending several hundred hours editing leaving us with quite a library of outtakes and gaffs that might one day become a DVD worth selling in the lobby to support missions or something like that.  Meanwhile we offer the attached entitled, “the Final Mission: the Christmas Party” which is our last SAVE Team effort.  It was also by the way our most ambitious and includes a new video with many excerpts from previous announcements as well.  Hopefully we saved the best for last. 

Special thanks to Cori and Jeremy Brewer; Michael Calva, Brian, Lisa, Josh, and Jaime Malley; Renae and Josiah Calva; Bob and Marci Pullar, the elders Jim and Henry, and of course Pastor Dave.  There are also other actors that donated their Thursdays or Saturdays to us that are too many to name.  We thank them all for stepping out of their comfort zone to look silly on the big church screen.  We especially thank all the suggestions we got from many of you after the service in the lobby.  We never ran out of ideas.  Finally, we were asked if this was really the last one and we answer by  referring to that great and decisive future hall of famer Brett Favre who once said, “ This is absolutely the last one.”
